WILLIAMSTON, SC : The winding road that has been the year 2020 brought the Southeast Legends and Bandolero Tours presented by RPM Pro-Formance back to Anderson Motor Speedway, but this time it was a proper race date that was on the original schedule. The TriStar Racewear 25 had another stacked field of the region’s best Legend car drivers in South Carolina for the eighth race of the year.
In qualifying it was Shelbyville, Kentucky’s Caleb Heady who would take the CamCo Landscaping pole award with a quick time of 17.180 seconds to best the 26 car field.
Heady would roll a four for the invert number which moved his Miller Performance Motorsports teammate Parker Varney on the inside of row one and Bryce Applegate to the outside for the start of the feature.
Rookie starter in the Southeast Legends Tour Jaydan Bowling spun on the frontstretch as the field received the green flag. Bowling was unable to get fired back up in time and the caution would wave to set up a restart to the 25 lap feature event.
Varney led the field off the second turn on the restart, but as he got loose in the fourth turn on lap one, slight contact with the right rear of his car knocked Applegate into the outside wall and forced the 45 of Applegate to pit road with terminal damage. The race stayed under green as Colin Brown took advantage of the situation and moved into the lead with Heady up to second.
Varney continued his slide backwards as Cameron Bolin, D.J. Canipe and Daniel Wilk all were able to move around the 18 of Varney a few laps later.
On lap 5, Heady got to the inside of Brown in the first turn and took the lead of the race as he wasted very little time in his drive back to the front after the invert.
As the front two were checked out, the battle was on for third place through the remainder of the field. Wilk took away fourth from Canipe on lap 6 as Alex McCollum, Landon Rapp and Lee Jordan joined that fight.
Rapp and Jordan moved around Varney and dropped him to ninth at the halfway point.
The race would get a reset on lap 13 after rookie challenger Nick Baity was backwards on the frontstretch to bring out the second yellow flag of the feature.
Heady and Brown brought the field down for a restart off turn four and it was Heady who powered back out front as Brown was swallowed by Bolin and Wilk off turn two and fell back to fourth.
Varney’s rough race continued on lap 17 as he lost control off of turn four and collected Karl Moberg and Heather Hadley to bring out the yellow flag once again.
Heady rocketed off to the lead on the restart as the battle was all behind him in the final laps. Wilk was able to get by Bolin for second with Brown and championship leader Canipe there to make it a four car battle for the runner-up spot.
Heady dominated the TriStar Racewear 25 for his second feature win of the Southeast Legends Tour season as he chases the INEX Pro Asphalt Championship. Daniel Wilk, Colin Brown, Cameron Bolin and D.J. Canipe rounded out the top five finishers.

In the AK Performance Bandolero Tour feature Bryce Sanders and Jacob Bradley led the field to the green flag for their 12 lap contest.
Sanders and Bradley were side by side across the line after lap 1 and that allowed Kaleb Bradley and Brayden Montieth into the lead battle.
The action would be slowed on lap 2 after Montieth clipped the left rear of Kaleb Bradley in turn two and sent both cars into the outside wall. Both drivers were able to climb out of the their cars, but Kaleb was able to get his car refired and he was able to rejoin the race.
Jacob Bradley and Sanders resumed their lead battle as Bradley would jump out front.
On lap 6, Sanders drove to the inside of the Bradley off turn four with a handful of steering wheel as they battled for the lead. Sanders carried the momentum and would clear Bradley off turn two for the lead.
The caution would fly with three laps to go after Kris East lost control over the bumps in turn four to setup a dash to the finish.
Sanders and J. Bradley raced side by side for the entire lap on the restart, before Sanders was able to clear the Chapel Hill, North Carolina driver off the second turn.
Bryce Sanders from Ola, Georgia was able to hold off Jacob Bradley over the final two circuits for his first career Southeast Bandolero Tour feature win.
